ECW from the land of scars to the land of new stars.

Well Lady's and Gentlemen ECW scored the best it has this year in ratings for this weeks ECW with a 1.5. Am I surprised? Not one bit ECW was a gold mine this week, A new title, the beginning of feuds and the new No.1 contender for ecw title.
The show starts out with Teddy long and the new ECW title, the thing is beautiful. It is a slap in the face to the philly fans were ECW began to get rid of the last remaining part of the original ECW. So Mark Henry and Tony come down and accept the title and do a typical hype of promo, Atlas really knows how to draw heat from the crowd. Then Colin comes down and explains why he screwed out Tommy, Saying that Mark Henry is the future and he will gladly carry Marks Bags. So Teddy makes a match Colin VS Dreamer which I expected. See I am glad Colin turned heel the whole babyface jobber thing wasn't working but this heel angle seems to be working already. Mark and Atlas leave the ring , Colin looks confused as if he wanted Mark to stay and help him with Dreamer.

Tommy Dreamer Vs Colin Dealeny

Colin was squashed, was hoping he would get some offense in so then it would look like he became a aggressive heel. Sadly Dreamer dominated the whole time and hit his patented DDT for the win.
Winner: Tommy Dreamer 3\5 stars
Maybe next time Colin? Truth is I am excited for this feud and hopfully it will end in a old school ECW match with Colin winning furthering his new heel gimmick. But who knows what direction WWE plans to go in these days.

Seems like Miz and Morrison are not that bitter about there tag loss. The promo they did about the main event was good hyping each other up and saying the other will win. Miz has really improved since he joined the WWE and I feel the tag team with Morrison is the main reason.

Evan Bourne VS James Curtis

So it seems Evan and Chavo are going to have a feud. Chavo and Bam come down to do commentary during Evans match.
The match overall was good both men had offensive on each other and Evan did some nice highflyer moves. Evan is really becoming a fan favorite, the fans cheered him on the whole match.
Evan hit his patented SSP and the crowd went wild. Overall both men did well in the ring.
Winner: Evan Bourne 4\5 stars
After the match Chavo and Bam try to attack Evan in the ring and Evan uses his speed to escape. This is a feud I am hyped for right here, to cruiser weights who have two different styles of wrestling and work well in the ring. A veteran with a new guy, I see Evan being put over in this feud and propelling him into one of the top face's on ECW.

Ricky Ortiz with some girl in the and Teddy comes in. Teddy claims he had the same fro back in the day. Ricky starts talking about t shirts, action figured, and teddy reminds him about how hes only had one match.. and atlas says how he is undefeated and he will have a match next week

Ricky may be able to cut a promo but he is very green in the ring, lets hope over the next few weeks he starts picking it up or I don't see him going anywhere.

Matt cuts a promo on how he may have lost the US title but now he has a chance to go for a better title the ECW title. Matt can really promo here, I really hope that one day he becomes a world champion.

Miz vs Morrison vs Finley Vs Matt Hardy
This match was a golden match this match went a long time and it made ECW a great show. These men did what they do best and worked there asses off. The fans were really into it. This was a typical fatal four way the two heels worked on the two faces and so on. I found it funny when Hornswaggle got involved and tricked Morrison so Finley got some offensive in. Near the end of the match Matt dominated the whole way hitting nice moves like a bull dog clothes line on Miz and Morrison. Matt ends up winning with a twist of fate and the crowd goes wild!
Winner: Matt Hardy 5\5 stars

Now with Matt being the number one contender I am happy. Matt deserves to be the champion on ECW he puts his all into the business and shows that he can work the crowd. Henry and Matt will have a golden feud only if they dont have long matches as Henry is not a marathon wrestler and does good in short matches. So I am hoping for a long term feud with Hardy eventually winning the title and showing he is a true champion.

Overall a 5\5 show everything worked well and I feel ECW is getting better and better every week. Matt as the No.1 contender, a Nice new feud between Colin and Dreamer. A cruiser weight feud between Evan and Chavo. These three things I hope will shape up and become things that people will look at ECW and say they had good matches.
I would like to end this review on a old school ecw note, Sandman a ECW original was arrested earlier this week for getting in a bar fight and throwing glasses at police officers. I hope sandman gets help for his alcoholism and hope he can return to wrestling again. The man really helped made ECW when it was hardcore and its is a shame to see something bad happen like this. So I wish Sandman the best of luck in his case.
